Soccer star Salvador Cabanas is in critical condition after being shot in the head during an attack at a bar. Cabanas was the Paraguay's World Cup team's leading scorer and also a member of Club America of Mexico's Primera Division. Reportedly, he was shot in his head during an attack in the restroom of a bar named "Big Bar" in Mexico City, which has been condemed by Mexican President Felipe Calderon. The 29-year-old received seven hours of emergency surgery following the predawn shooting. The doctor reported he was unable to remove the bullet lodged in the back of Cabanas' brain, and removing it would do more damage at this point.
